Hooman Madyoon, MD, FACP, FACC
Dr. Madyoon is a triple board-certified interventional cardiologist and the co-founder of Westside Medical Associates of Los Angeles (WMALA) and Westside Medical Imaging.
Dr. Madyoon has been on the fore-front of Interventional Cardiovascular innovations and application of both “Devices” and “Pharmaceuticals” to clinical practice for the last 20 years. As a pioneer in endovascular surgery and carotid artery stenting, Dr. Madyoon has served as one of the four investigators in California, responsible for the National Institute of Health (NIH) - sponsored Carotid Revascularization Endarterectomy versus Stenting Trial (CREST), and has published one of the first reports on effectiveness of this technology in a community hospital setting. In addition, his work has been published in more than 60 scientific articles in peer review medical journals, and he has performed more than 6,000 coronary and vascular interventions. |

Dr. Madyoon founded the clinical research program at St. Joseph’s Medical Center and played a pivotal role as the principal investigator in more than 30 key multicenter clinical research trails, evaluating the progress of coronary and peripheral angioplasty devices, from balloons to lasers and stents.
Dr. Madyoon graduated Magna Cum laude from Pahlavi University School of Medicine in Shiraz, Iran. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Henry Ford Hospital and cardiovascular center, an affiliate of the University of Michigan.
Dr. Madyoon is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Madyoon has been invited to lecture on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and vascular disorders including CT cardiovascular imaging in many prestigious national and international meetings and has published on these topics in important cardiovascular journals. He is currently practicing as one of the busiest and most respected Interventional Cardiology attendings at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los-Angeles, closely involved with the teaching of fellowship trainees in Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Madyoon actively participates in design and conduction of clinical research at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute in collaboration with WMALA and publishes his work in peer review journals regularly.
